2. Hosting & server log files

This website is hosted on servers of an external hosting provider. Whenever you visit this website, the provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. This includes: the IP address of the requesting device, date and time of access, name and URL of the file accessed, the website from which access was made (referrer URL), browser type and version, and the operating system used. This data is not merged with other data sources. Processing is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR) in the technically error-free operation and security of this website. Log data is automatically deleted after a short period, typically within a few weeks.

3. Contact form

If you use the contact form on this website, the details you provide — name, email address, company (optional), intended period of stay (optional) and your message — are transmitted from your browser to our web server and forwarded to our mailbox by email in order to process your enquiry and respond to it. No data from the contact form is stored in a database on our server.

Processing of this data is based on Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and, where the enquiry is not aimed at a contract, on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). We retain the correspondence for as long as necessary to process your request and any follow-up questions, and delete it once it is no longer required, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

4. Google Fonts

This website loads web fonts ("Google Fonts") directly from servers operated by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; data may be processed by the Google group in the United States). When a page is loaded, your browser establishes a connection to Google's servers to retrieve the required fonts, during which your IP address and browser information are transmitted to Google. Google may process this data as a data importer, including in the United States. This occurs on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR) in a consistent and visually appealing presentation of our website. Further information is available in Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Interactive map (location page)

The location page of this website uses the open-source library Leaflet, loaded from the CDN "unpkg.com" (operated by Cloudflare, Inc.), together with map tiles from the OpenStreetMap Foundation. When this page is loaded, your browser connects to these third-party servers and transmits your IP address to them, in order to display the interactive map. This occurs on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR) in providing a functional, user-friendly location overview. Further information: openstreetmap.org/copyright.

6. Cookies

This website does not use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies, and no cookie-based consent tools are required. Any cookies that may be set are strictly technical session cookies necessary for the operation of the site.

7. Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR); rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR); erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR); restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR); data portability (Art. 20 GDPR); and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 1.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for Bremen is: Die Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit der Freien Hansestadt Bremen, Arndtstraße 1, 27570 Bremerhaven, Germany.
